I don’t wanna preach, we’ve had enough of that I don’t wanna screech, I’m not that kinda cat He’s come down among us, he’s hairy and humongous And he’s come to show us the way Show us the way, to a brighter today Inter-dimensional Sasquatch from outer-space He’s come down among us, he’s hairy and humungous He’s come to show us the way I was walking in the woods one day, what do you think I saw? It was a peaceful, pleasant day, what do you think I saw? Suddenly to my surprise, what do you think I saw? Something taking very big strides, what do you think I saw? It was a hairy-looking, big-footed, arm-swinging, ape-looking man I stopped and stared, froze and shook, I jumped up, and I ran, and I ran It was a hairy-looking, big-footed, arm-swinging, ape-looking man I stopped and stared, froze and shook, I jumped up, and I ran, and I ran "Come back." he said inside my head, "the time is late I must relate Here comes the dusk and so I must, give these words to you "Fear not we come in peace to this land of a distant sun To the people and the trees the truth is we’re all one "There are 7 colors in the spectrum that you’ve seen But it’s important that you know subterranean green" Long, long away in the distant future There will be a man by the name of Narluga He'll come from the land that we now call Alaska His parents will say, "Son, we gotta ask ya We're the last of our clan And we come from a dying land Won't travel the time bridge and stop this If you can "Narluga, Narluga Narluga, Narluga "Our great grandfather's weren't so great They certainly weren't the brightest primates They didn't have much respect for this place They poisoned their own living space So go back into the past Go now and do it fast Tell them their way of living just can't last "Narluga, Narluga Narluga, Narluga "Narluga, Narluga Narluga, Narluga"

What’s with all these robots walking down the street? Everybody’s plugged into their phones. What’s with all these robots staring at their feet? Everybody looks like fashion clones. Everybody looks like angry drones Sitting at the coffee shop Eating their serious scones So seriously. I mean, seriously! My name is Narluga, I come from the future A possible one, anyway Named after a fish that does not yet exist Really a mammal, but hey I’ve come to proclaim “Hang your head now in shame Or do something ‘bout it instead.” I was on the time bridge overlooking the ridge Sasquatch was there and he said, "How can you be yourself if you’ve never met before? Riding the mechanical bull of thoughts? How can you know what’s inside if you’ve never opened the door? Advertising space sold and bought. You’ve learned all that they’ve taught. Sitting in the classroom Like a sponge saying 'What have you got?' As you soak it all in And it stews within. "You’re more than the sum of the advertising slogans in your wardrobe. You’re more than a portal, an internet wormhole trading useless information for social validation." I’m ready for the yeti I’m ready for the yeti I’m ready for the yeti I’m ready

Sasquatch sees 8 colors, red orange yellow green blue Sasquatch sees 8 colors, indigo and violet, too But the 8th color the Sasquatch sees, that’s invisible to you and me Is the color in between, we’ll call it subterranean green! The present is the thing, past and future are fiction If you want to be happy, you’ve got to set illusions free Freedom’s only freedom when, everyone is free to sing The force that makes the stars to shine, is also what ferments your wine When your self is empty is, when the universe can bless Peace must come from inside you, and radiate through all you do The thought of thinking thoughts, is always just another thought Subterranean Green we are all one if you know what I mean Subterranean Green we are all one if you know what I mean Subterranean Green we are all one if you know what I mean

The Sasquatch and I sat down by and by By a waterfall in the trees We smoked a pipe that tasted real nice And one Sasquatch turned to three The Sasquatches three explained to me Emptiness, freedom, and now Till I understood and I felt that I should Pass this along somehow Then three Sasquatches turned into 7 And one more I couldn’t see We talked for awhile then they started to smile Then they said we should sit & be 7 Sasquatches were suddenly one And stood there shining in the morning sun 7 Sasquatches were suddenly one And stood there shining in the morning sun Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, & Violet, too, & Subterranean Green Subterranean Green Subterranean Green Subterranean Green

3 layer brain cake, 3 layer brain Sometimes I think that I’m going insane Reptile, mammal, and primate as well 3 layer brain cake’s delicious as hell Sometimes I try to let all the thoughts go Sink down in the quiet where primates don’t go Layer by layer the clouds drift away Peaceful and tranquil, a clear blue sky day 3 layer brain cake, the Sasquatches know Meditation integration jubilation and so Let’s find the still point that’s no point at all Because pointlessness is the point of it all Spaceships that look like bubbles They don’t wanna cause no trouble Won’t leave our planet in rubble They want peace and that goes double Sasquatch! He wants to free your mind Spaceships that look like bubbles They don’t wanna cause no trouble Won’t leave our planet in rubble They want peace and that goes double Sasquatch! He wants to free your mind!

Sasquatch woman I love you Sasquatch woman I'm thinking of you Your long and flowing hair all over your body When we walk hand in hand Across this wasted land Will the people and yetis look at us oddly? I just can't describe This hunger and this drive To have you Sasquatch woman by my side The things you make me feel Are just so unreal Sasquatch woman we'll do more than survive

Inter-dimensional Sasquatch from outer-space Traveled the time bridge to save the human race Inter-dimensional Sasquatch from outer-space Traveled the time bridge to save the human race He says, “I can’t save you, you’ve gotta save yourself I’m not the messiah, but I’m here to help.” Inter-dimensional Sasquatch from outer-space Inter-dimensional Sasquatch from outer-space Traveled the time bridge to save the human race Inter-dimensional Sasquatch from outer-space Traveled the time bridge to save the human race He says, “I can’t save you, you’ve gotta save yourself I’m not the messiah, but I’m here to help.” Inter-dimensional Sasquatch from outer-space So we sing this Sasquatch song From Japan to Saskatchewan, From England’s shores to the River Nile Sasquatch you’ve returned our smile So if you’re looking for peace and love Don’t look out there, don’t look above For Sasquatch lives inside of you’re heart and mine And you know he’s been there the whole time So we sing this Sasquatch song From Japan to Saskatchewan, From England’s shores to the River Nile Sasquatch you’ve returned our smile So we sing this Sasquatch song From Japan to Saskatchewan, From England’s shores to the River Nile Sasquatch you’ve returned our smile

about

“A wonderful acoustic concept album journey from this clever wordsmith. Woody Guthrie meets Frank Zappa. High on entertainment for all ages from 8 to 800.”~Wud Records

The Narluga Epic is the acoustic version of the Spectrophonographia album. On Spectrophonographia I recorded myself playing full rock band arrangements of the songs with the intention of putting a band together to play them live.

The band never materialized, and so I soldiered forward playing the songs solo with an acoustic guitar and a harmonica. This is a record of what the songs sound like when performed this way.

It's been a lot of fun. I will probably continue to perform the songs live like this for quite some time, although I haven't completely given up hope on playing them with a band one of these days.

Narluga is the main character of the Narluga Epic. He is a time-traveling native Alaskan from the future. He is named after a marine mammal that exists in his time, and is rumored to exist already; a cross between a beluga whale and a narwhal. The two species will eventually breed together due to the shrinking of their respective species and their habitats.

Narluga is sent by his tribe to find a solution to the impending extinction of life on earth, brought about by pollution and war. In his travels he discovers the Time Bridge which allows him to travel to different places in time and space instantly. He also meets the Sasquatch race and finds out a lot about them.

Among the things he finds out about the Sasquatch: they come from another planet and dimension, they've come to earth to escape the destruction of their own planet by natural forces, they have been mainly successful in living on earth undetected and in peace, and they also are concerned about the fate of earth and want to help save it.

I will let the lyrics to the songs fill in the rest. Here are the jacket notes from the original release, "Spectrophonographia: the Complete Sasquatch Saga:"

"In this thyme of post-modem contrivances & re-packaged food stuffs, the inhabituals of the earth & the earth herself are suffer-ing from a most dead-full dis-ease.

"But living in our midstses is a race of hairy hominids who have been traveling a secret space-thyme bridge between our home & their own for ages, waiting & watching for the rite thyme to share their wizdumb w/ us.

"That thyme has not yet come.

"However, at a future point in the history of our specious there will be a humane man named Narluga (named after the offspring of the narwhal & the beluga whale who will be brought together by eco-logical necessitude).

"The man Narluga will discover that mythic space-thyme bridge & be-friend the big-footed pri-mates. To-gether they will travel backward in thyme to now.

"& here they are!

"They are not save-yours, per se, but rather they are here to insist that the path to salv-ation is w/ in you & w/ in ea. of us.

"This is their storie--the storie of the Sasquatch & the storie of Narluga. And this is our storie--the storie of how we will come to know peace, love, happi-ness, & free-dom, 1st in our harts & then on our planet.

"Subterranean green to ea. of you, my friends!"
