lyrics

What’s with all these robots walking down the street?
Everybody’s plugged into their phones.
What’s with all these robots staring at their feet?
Everybody looks like fashion clones.
Everybody looks like angry drones
Sitting at the coffee shop
Eating their serious scones
So seriously.
I mean, seriously!

My name is Narluga, I come from the future
A possible one, anyway
Named after a fish that does not yet exist
Really a mammal, but hey
I’ve come to proclaim “Hang your head now in shame
Or do something ‘bout it instead.”
I was on the time bridge overlooking the ridge
Sasquatch was there and he said,

How can you be yourself if you’ve never met before?
Riding the mechanical bull of thoughts?
How can you know what’s inside if you’ve never opened the door?
Advertising space sold and bought.
You’ve learned all that they’ve taught.
Sitting in the classroom
Like a sponge saying “What have you got?”
As you soak it all in
And it stews within.

You’re more than the sum of the advertising slogans in your wardrobe.
You’re more than a portal, an internet wormhole trading useless information for social validation.

I’m ready for the yeti
I’m ready for the yeti
I’m ready for the yeti
I’m ready
