God is the boundless ocean "I" am a rippling wave The crest is the life I’ve chosen The trough is both womb and grave My time in this form I take Is brief but does not stand alone I’ll reach for the sky In the blink of an eye Until I am called back home I must learn to live in peace And in harmony with the sea The rushing tide doesn’t cease It’s an endless melody I’ll find joy in all that is And won’t worry about what isn’t For now that I see That the ocean is me I can dance with the cosmic rhythm I must learn to live in peace And in harmony with the sea The rushing tide doesn’t cease It’s an endless melody I’ll find joy in all that is And won’t worry about what isn’t For now that I see That the ocean is me I can dance with the cosmic rhythm For now that I see That the ocean is me I can dance with the cosmic rhythm For now that I see That the ocean is me I can dance with the cosmic rhythm

Family Diner 02:55
Hot biscuits I like them under gravy Eggs and sausage maybe I haven’t had them lately Breakfast is the most important meal Add juice and toast you can get a real good deal At the Family Diner Nothing could be finer The jelly is sublime there 2 eggs for $3.99 or Maybe you just want a bowl of cereal Something light and healthy to make your stomach full At the family diner Yeah they serve wine there You got your choice of beer If we go for dinner Lunch would be okay a sandwich and a cup Of the soup of the day, let’s hurry up To the family diner To the family diner To the family diner To the family diner

I saw a purple flower; I left her where she was. I asked why she was beautiful And she replied, "Because The beauty that one sees Is in the eye that looks. You turn the muddy rivulets Into laughing brooks." I thanked the purple flower For the wisdom she had shared; That beauty's all around us-- We can see it everywhere. If we open up our hearts And open up our eyes We'll see the beauty all around. Beauty lives inside. I saw a rusty wire Lying on the ground I asked the wire why oh why Are you hanging ‘round The wire said “It’s in your head: The evil that you dread You’re so hung up on fixing things Fix yourself instead I thanked the rusty wire And now I know what’s true Good and evil, black and white Are inside me and you If we water the flowers And put things in their place We can make things beautiful For the human race

Oblivious 03:19
Dendritic trees tickle sky Where nervous birds electric fly Convey the universal will To the cat upon the windowsill Mottled blue and grey and white Turn black and purple with the night The moon above an opening To the light that’s streaming in Pull my coat tight, oblivious As I await the city bus Check my pocket for the fare A cold wind blows thru me there Outside where squirrels and ravens once Fought for food on daily hunts The streets and phone lines quiet lie Wait for winter to pass by Shut my door, oblivious Outside the dawn is tinged with rust I fold my arms standing there At the window I just stand and stare Every moment is a work of art. Everything around us plays a part Sometimes I look and I notice. Most times I’m just oblivious Dendritic trees tickle sky Where nervous birds electric fly Convey the universal will To the cat upon the windowsill Mottled blue and grey and white Turn black and purple with the night The moon above an opening To the light that’s streaming in

Let's lie down & stare at the dying star Turning red to white just before Exploding into a supernova In space this happens over & over It happens light years away then fades to black If time repeats itself it might fade back Drop the key from E to D Expressing the instrumentality Within As we lie down & stare at the dying star Let’s lie down & stare at the dying star Turning red to white just before Exploding into a supernova Now our time is almost over The night is fading but it’ll be back This broken universe is only cracked

Praise be to the Lord of Israel Hear the trumpet blow Feel the Sprit flow Praise be to the Lord of Israel Hear the trumpet blow Feel the Sprit flow And you, my child Will be called a prophet You will go before the Lord By whom we will be restored And you, my child Will be called a prophet You will proclaim he who comes Bringing us our salvation Praise be to the Lord of Israel Hear the trumpet blow Feel the Sprit flow Praise be to the Lord of Israel Hear the trumpet blow Feel the Sprit flow And the rising sun Will come from heaven Casting light upon the dark The path of peace we’ll walk And the rising sun Will come from heaven Through the forgiveness of sin We’ll be washed clean once again Praise be to the Lord of Israel Hear the trumpet blow Feel the Sprit flow Praise be to the Lord of Israel Hear the trumpet blow Feel the Sprit flow

Somebody told me one time that a galaxy Has the same shape as a snail shell from the sea And I never would’ve guessed Though it makes perfect sense It’s the spiral garland wound around reality And when the sun goes down and you look out into space And wonder if we’re alone in this place It's all a big shell game Our souls are all the same The universe is peering out through each face What if I told you this life is a puppet show? You’d probly laugh and say, “I ain’t no puppet, though.” No, but I am certain You’re the one behind the curtain, And so am I. We’re puttin’ our own selves on y’know. And when the lights come up we’re gonna look around And we’ll be the only ones to be found. And I am you and you are me. We’re the one reality In the universal theater in the round Joy and sadness, life and death, and all of that: We’re responsible for one another on this raft. When we get to the shore We won’t need it no more. We’ll shake each other’s hand and then we’ll laugh And where the ocean meets the sand is where we’re gonna land And realize we really did all we can For when the false you melts away In the new light of the day Our oneness is all that we’ll understand

The flea was jumping down the street Didn’t know who he might meet The flea was jumping down the street The fly then he did greet Said the flea to the fly You’re my kind of guy Said the flea to the fly You’re my kind of guy The fly was flitting down the street Didn’t know who he might meet The fly was flitting down the street Some frogs then he did greet Said the fly to the frogs How are your polliwogs? Said the fly to the frogs How are your polliwogs? The frogs were hopping down the street Didn’t know who they might meet The frogs were hopping down the street The Dog then they did greet Said the frogs to the dog You should swing by our log Said the frogs to the dog You should swing by our log The dog was walking down the street Didn’t know who he might meet The dog was walking down the street The flea then he did greet Said the dog to the flea You just eat at me Said the dog to the flea You just eat at me Flea, fly, frog, dog, at the log Pupa, pup, & polliwog Flea, fly frog, dog, at the log Pupa, pup, & polliwog They danced to this tune One bright, sunny afternoon They danced to this tune One bright, sunny afternoon

No Thing 01:51
Many, many years ago Before there were even years Far, far, far away Yet very, very near No Thing existed But No Thing could not be So No Thing became everything Including you and me Stars burn Planets cool Little germs That look like drool Fungus, Plants Trees and ants, Ibexes And this and that But in with and under Every this and that Still exists the No Thing That never ever can It’s a tiny spark of darkness It’s a hidden light that glares No Thing is everything Everyone and everywhere

about

This album is a musical nursery wherein the songs you hear have been planted, nurtured, and grown. Now that they have reached maturity and blossomed, I present to you this songwriter's nursery. I invite you to breathe in the musical fragrances and enjoy the melodic and harmonic colors of these tunes and lyrics. If you feel so inclined, pick a few, make a bouquet, and share with others.
